Casa Grande Ruins
Thanks to the government start up, we were able to visit the Casa Grande Ruins. These ruins were discovered in the 1800s, and were the catalyst for the national park system. Completely made of earthen composition, the preservation effort fights against the climate and environment. The main large building has a complete roof built by the park service over it.
Large cactus that fell over. They have ribs in them.
After the saguaro dies its woody ribs can be used to build roofs, fences, and parts of furniture.
Pretty cool outing! Keep having a blast!
ReplyDeleteI was digging through my spam box this morning and found a message with your blog link. I don't know why it ended up in there, but I'm sure glad I found it. It seems like you've found an ideal place to stay at (except for the internet service!) and looks like you are having a great time. I'm so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteMiss you guys! Super Bowl isn't going to be nearly as much fun next Sunday as it usually is...
